Great Aunt Katie

We had a lovely time in T-town visiting with the whole famn damily. The facility where we had the reunion was beautiful... props to Jim and Diane Leitner (hollah)! Aunt Katie looks as great as ever and I absolutely love, love, love the photo of Spacey with her! Two peas in a pod, they are.

As we all know, Aunt Katie will be celebrating her 90th next year and I plan on joining in her celebration and bring my entire family (with the exception of the dog and cats, of course) to celebrate with her. I really hope to see everyone again since I had such a lovely time visiting with them this past week! I only wish that there had been enough time to chat it up with everyone who came. I really missed not being able to catch up with Tony Glauser or his sister, Allison (and their spouses/children)... maybe next time I'm in town?

I am going to attempt to make a photo slideshow of the reunion and post it to my blog so we'll see how that goes... Love you all!

The Moosh Award

So megs got the Artist of the Year award today! YAY MEG, YAY! She was so excited. I took video but I had Ms. O on my lap the entire time and she is a squiggly, squirmy little toddler so it's not that easy to watch. I got a little sea-sick but I'm posting it anyhoo! She was so proud! I love her so mu-u-u-u-u-u-ch!

Favorite Line of the Day...

"Bitch, I wasn't trying to bogart your baby, calm down. "
~mimi smartypants

Oh. My. God. I just love reading her! So but I realize it's been, like, forever since I've been on here but I've been super busy lately doing lots of meaningless things... LOTS! Sometimes it's just nice to do things that do not accomplish anything. Do you feel me? I mean, don't get me wrong... it's not like I'm shirking my responsibilities. I've still got anywhere from three to six kids running around my house at any given moment so it's not like a got a whole lotta free time on my hands. But I got this shitty little summer cold so I cut back with the sitting on babies thing and kind of took some time to get well and all (oh. The "sitting on babies" comment is a reference to The Cat in the Hat. I don't actually sit on babies). Anyhoo... so I decided that the way to get well is to not stress out or do anything that requires deep thought (So, I'll have to get to that whole "world peace" thing at a later date). I think it worked. Although, I "met" an awful lot of really stupid people on the internet whilst I de-thunk. To give them the benifit of the doubt; it could be that they were doing exactly what I was doing (not thinking for a bit) and perhaps they're really, really smart IRL. OMGIALOTFLMAOASMS!!!! I hate those things. Hate them.

Okay... I'm super-duper tired so I'm gonna call it a night. I need to rest up for Kelly Tuesday! Yay me! I'm going to paint the office/guestroom/litterbox before the company gets to town. See ya!

Megs first soccer game

Maggie and Grace had their first soccer game of the season (the first soccer game ever for Miss Moosh). So, we get to the field and I'm ready to begin filming the girls in play and my battery dies. That sucked. I'll get some good footage next weekend, I promise! Grace is so friggin' fast it is almost unreal and she is the tallest on the team. Oh, I don't have time now but I'll write later about how we discovered that the girls were on the same team. Crazy Darvoset!

A pain in my neck...

I am not sure what the bloody hell happened Monday evening but I awoke at 3am and heard a creepy "click" come from inside me (in my neck, apparently) and I suddenly couldn't move. Needless to say, Kelly Tuesday was not the day of fun it was supposed to be. I couldn't get my hair cut, go grocery shopping, goto lunch, goto the girls school to read for Maggie's class, walk the dog, goto the gym... NOTHING! Suck, suck and more suck was had to be sure! Nothing but a sucky mass of suckness! So, my neighbor gave me some darvoset which really worked quite nicely. And yes, I am fully aware that one should not take prescription drugs from their neighbor but my fucking neck really fucking hurt and I would have accepted a pipe of crack if it offered relief from the pain.
Update: today (Thursday) my neck seems to have "popped back" into shape (no crack pipe required). I'm still gonna visit my (new) chiropractor but it is mostly just out of curiosity at this point.
So then there was Wednesday... nice morning and all until our bathroom pipes came crashing through the kitchen ceiling. Stugots! Or as Annie would say, Mon Dieu! Since then, our plumber (yes, we have a plumber... remember the bathroom toilet fiasco?) came and repaired the pipes and our construction/painter dude (yes, we have one of them too... remember the water damage in the living room ceiling from the ice storm of '02... or the wall damage from the October storm of '06?) anyhoo, he will be here Saturday to fix our ceiling. I just thank God that we didn't have to involve our roof/siding guy this time because he is just really expensive!
So, I was all irritated and everything... especially considering that David had a little something to do with the pipe incident but that is neither here nor there. I meditated. I finally meditated a little. I spoke with Stacey and she says that I did not just fall asleep a bit, I actually meditated (in her professional opinion). I thought I fell asleep because I was attempting to meditate and then I was at the grocery store and forgot to buy potatoes (I was only metaphorically at the grocery store) so when I "woke up" I thought I'd had a dream but man... I have never felt so refreshed or so "light". It was awesome. I don't even care about the ceiling at all. And just as an aside... it turns out that I really did forget to buy potatoes at the grocery store (crazy). "Serenity Now", eh? Ahhh... I will try this another time soon and see if it works again. Kudos to Space-face for lettin' me know I got my meditation on!
Oh... here's the photo of the ceiling:

By the way... that grayish thing to the right of the exposed pipe is our bathtub. Neat, huh?

Amazing Book...

Click here to view this photo book.

I don't know if this link will get you there for sure but I hope you'll be able to see this incredible book... it was created by a member on Shutterfly (where I made the book for Stacey & MK) the site that I use to make all of my projects. I still do not have a copy of the book but I can visit it here:

I said doo...

Yes... I will be chopping off the coif on Tuesday. Well, technically I will not be doing the chopping. Although, I was seriously considering it when Scott (the receptionist) informed me that I couldn't get in this month. So I cried a little... big fuckin' deal, man... it got me in on Tuesday, didn't it? Who's the asshole now, huh? I'll post the photo's then but I'm guessing it will be dramatic. I'm going through a "thing"... and it appears as if it can all be traced back to my hair. My fucking long, blond locks. Now, the part that frightens me is that I cannot make up my mind what to do with it... it will depend on my mood at the time and that's just enormously scary. You feel me, dawg? It could be dark... it will be short... it may be warm (or cool) tones... red, platinum, black? I don't frigging know, man. Any suggestions are welcome. Well, I gotta go imbibe. Word to yo motha y'all.
